Start with what you actually know
Distance can have many causes. Use patterns, direct communication, and your own boundaries instead of trying to read a mind. A single behavior rarely proves a single motive. Separate observations from interpretations: what changed, how often it happens, what was said directly, and whether effort is reciprocal.
Choose the next useful action
Decide what information you need. A calm check-in, a clear question, or a boundary usually gives you better information than testing, chasing, or trying to trigger a particular response.
Look at the pattern, not one moment
Consistency over time matters more than one text, one quiet day or one unusually affectionate date. Pay attention to whether words and actions line up and whether you feel able to ask reasonable questions without fear.
